About Leadership Harrison County
Since 1995, Leadership Harrison County (LHC) has been working to develop servant leaders in our community. Each year, we spend nine months taking a class of participants through an opening two-day retreat and eight day-long sessions of leadership training designed to equip and inspire citizens to contribute to Harrison County professionally and personally. Our curriculum focuses on these content areas:

  • Servant leadership

  • People styles

  • History and inclusivity

  • Communication and conflict resolution

  • Consensus and collaboration

  • Harrison County tour

  • Values, ethics, and personal mission

In addition to receiving training, the members of each LHC class identify and complete a class project directly addressing an opportunity somewhere in Harrison County. Graduates leave our program energized to serve the community by participating on boards, seeking or creating volunteer opportunities, and implementing new skills in their existing leadership roles.

We welcome participants of all ages and all walks of life. Classes are typically on either the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday of each month, September - May. Please review the dates and topics for the 2026 class. Tuition, which is deeply subsidized by local sponsors, is $600 for applications submitted by July 1st, and $650 thereafter. Up to four partial scholarships are available to self-pay applicants with financial need. To confirm a place in the class, participants must 1) submit a complete application, 2) have a successful interview, and 3) submit payment. We select participants based on two primary factors: a timely and complete application process and a demonstrated desire to apply servant leadership to benefit our community.

Application
The application for the current class has closed. We will open the application for the next class in mid-April 2026, and that class will begin in September 2026.
